01Where it answers

On WhatsApp and on Telegram, set up for each.

The idea is the same on both channels: instructions in, answers out, a person when needed. On WhatsApp the agent is Meta’s own; on Telegram it runs on the AI provider you choose.

02The handover

Handing over is a setting, not an accident.

On WhatsApp you choose what the agent says as it hands a chat to your team: Meta’s standard message, your own words, or a message it writes for each chat. On Telegram it steps aside as soon as a person is assigned or starts typing.

A WhatsApp chat the agent hands over waits under “Needs Human” in Live Chat, with Meta’s summary when Meta sends one. Whoever takes it answers in the same thread, so the customer never starts again.

When the question is settled, “Hand back to AI agent” in the chat header returns the chat to the agent.

03Who pays

Who pays for the AI, channel by channel.

On WhatsApp, Meta bills the agent to your own Meta account. On Telegram and for AI drafts, bring your own key or pay per generation from the wallet.

WhatsApp: Meta bills the agent’s usage to your business’s Meta account. Answering everyone needs a payment method in Meta Billing Hub; the test list works without one, and test chats are free. Pinnaki doesn’t resell or mark it up, and agent replies are not charged to your wallet. Usage limits, by tokens or agent replies per 1, 7, 14 or 30 days, keep the bill in check.

Telegram and AI drafts: one set of keys covers the Telegram agent and the AI drafts for templates and flows. Usage on your own key is not charged to your wallet and doesn’t use your plan’s monthly AI drafts. Without a key of your own, a request Pinnaki runs on its own key is charged per generation from the wallet, at ₹0.50.

What people ask before they let an AI answer their customers.

Which AI does it run on?

On WhatsApp, the agent is Meta Business Agent, Meta’s own AI; you don’t pick or pay for a model through Pinnaki. The Telegram agent runs on OpenAI or Google Gemini, with the model you pick. AI drafts for templates and flows can also use an Anthropic (Claude) key. Keys go under AI Provider Keys in the workspace settings.

Does the AI agent cost extra?

On WhatsApp, Meta bills the agent’s usage to your business’s own Meta account. It is not charged to your Pinnaki wallet and not marked up, and test chats are free. On Telegram, usage on your own key is not charged to your wallet and your AI provider bills you directly; a reply Pinnaki runs on its own key is charged at ₹0.50 from the wallet.

Can every WhatsApp number use it?

No, Meta decides. The number must be on the WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API), not the WhatsApp Business app, the business must be in good standing in a country where the agent is available, and it must accept Meta’s terms for the agent in WhatsApp Manager. Finance, government, health, alcohol, gambling, over-the-counter drugs and matrimony businesses are excluded. Pinnaki shows Meta’s answer for your number; Meta doesn’t give a reason.

How do I keep it out of a chat?

On Telegram, take the chat: while a person is assigned to it, or is typing a reply, the agent leaves it alone. On WhatsApp, start with a test list of up to 20 numbers, set usage limits, and turn the agent off for the number whenever you want; chats it hands over wait for your team under “Needs Human”.

Can it get an answer wrong?

Yes. It only knows what you give it, and it can misread that. Try it in the test chat before it answers everyone, read its replies in Live Chat during the first weeks, and keep your instructions and knowledge current.
